Airfields Together With Smaller Industrial Hangars Should Have Their Security Nailed Down
Airport and plane security is a critical sector of the aviation industry as companies have to deal with increasing security pressures from places such as terror campaigns, health and safety and unlawful activity including burglary and wilful damage. These seem to be rising and it is important that the management can show that no one can get to or meddle with an airplane or helicopter at their complex. This can be a very tricky task as the sites are generally large, busy areas with a lot of different operators demanding access to a huge number of different “off limits” areas. They are also normal places of work for large numbers of staff and familiarity can be a big security problem too.
One of the problem areas are the typical hangar Doors. These are conventionally built from fabric or other lightweight substance and thus vulnerable material because of the load issues. These doorwayss must be able to be built in massive widths and heights in order to accommodate the plane and this has been the main issue when it comes to the makeup of these doors. Lightweight fabric has been the only way that the door can be constructed wide enough to deal with the plane yet light enough to allow it to open, security problems however are not solved. These specs are straightforward to break through due to their fragile temperament and are a reason for unease.
Hydraulics are giving us an alternative though. They permit a much heavier material to be used in place of the fabric door, therefore giving the greater security afforded by steel, bricks and granite. These doors can be made as wide as the old fashioned roller doors and offer a much better solution in terms of not only security but athletics too. Being able to encase the new version hanger door in and products such as glass, brick, stone or wood means that not only does it replicate the strength of the rest of the building but it also looks fab too; it is a great solution to door security issues.
