Hurghade offers some of the best diving facilities in the world. The beautiful fish and bright coral amazes all who come to stay. You can see the corals about 1 metre below the surface, and beyond into the darkness. The colours that greet you even from the surface are quite amazing. Travel down below and you are guaranteed a mind-blowing experience.
People often prefer Egypt holidays for many other reasons that just diving, for example, Nile cruises are a popular choice.
You will find many fish living all over the reef and many can be clearly seen from the surface. To enjoy your diving holiday there are many Hurghada hotels to choose from in the resort. They are generally of a very high standard and quite cheap for the quality you will receive. Not only is the weather unshakable beautiful, but the accommodation is top of the range.
You can dive from Gota Abu Ramada in the south, right up to Shaab Ruhr Umm in the north of the resort. There are regular excursions into the Gulf of Suez to dive the wrecks of Dunraven and Thistlegorm near the region of Abu Nuas.
Some useful diving guidelines whilst in Egypt:
- Always do a pre-dive check with your companion
- Dont exceed the depth that you have achieved in your training. Generally there is a 30m limit
- Dont touch the reef or you may damage it or suffer injury yourself
- When you reach 5 metres, perform a safety stop for about 3 minutes. Ensure that you complete this close to the reef or the mooring line.
