Holiday Rentals – European Holiday On The Inexpensive!
If you’re anything like me, the holiday rental concept is brand new! I know enough about time-shares to be dangerous and everyone knows about hotels. When I blundered onto this holiday rental idea, I couldn’t stop thinking about it!
I’ve usually wanted to holiday in Europe, haven’t we all, but I could never really give the idea credence because, within the deep recesses of my brain, I knew hotel accommodations would be just too cost prohibitive. When I began to explore the holiday rental, I realized that a European holiday might be within my grasp after all!
Comparing hotel rates with vacation rental rates, it’s apparent that I can get more for less having a vacation rental. If you are traveling with another couple or a group, the per individual savings can be tremendous.
Check out this example for Paris:
I located a holiday apartment rental within the Latin Quarter for $1465.00 per week. It has two bedrooms, each having a private bath. There is a kitchenette, Internet access, and cable TV. It is a five minutes walk from Notre Dame.
For 4 people, that works out to $366.25 every individual every week or $52.32 per day per individual.
For comparison, I located a Mid Scale hotel known as Adagio Paris Opéra, in roughly the same area. The rooms begin at $302.25 per day, that is $2115.75 per week, roughly $75.00 every person every night, based upon 4 people.
There, you’ve 1 bedroom with two single beds and a sofa bed in the living room. It also has cable and Internet access, but only 1 bathroom.
From strictly a cost standpoint, the holiday rental may be the much better deal, but there is more to think about than just cash. What about comfort? How about privacy? Certainly, the private bath is plus for the vacation rental as are two bedrooms rather than one. I like to have my own personal space by which to relax. The vacation rental seems more like “home” than the hotel atmosphere. You will find other advantages worth mentioning. Families can be together as opposed to scattered about in different hotel rooms. This advantage is really great! Then there’s the problem of tipping, taxes, schedules for meals and so on. You have much more room in a vacation rental in which to relax. Plainly said, it’s just much more like house!
So, what is the downside? You will not usually find support staff on premise, so if you’ve a problem, big or little, its resolution may take some time. Transportation may be an issue. Appear into this prior to you finalize your plans. You probably won’t have maid service. Be prepared to clean up following yourself. When you arrive, you might be disappointed. Hey! Even I appear great in photos.
If you are diligent inside your research, ask the correct questions and are realistic inside your expectations, you will likely find the holiday rental to be a more than satisfactory experience.
