Entertainment – Be A Good Singer

There are many techniques to learn as good singing is not merely an art but a science as well.

The major distinctive difference between a good and a great singer is that the latter puts in much more time and effort in learning, practicing and perfecting the craft. Although you may have some talent, but without the right coaching and practice, you will never be a great singer.

a) Breathing Techniques – Many singers do not breathe correctly when they are singing and because of this flaw, they limit their own vocal potential.

I am sure you have heard of the phrase Sing from your diaphragm.

Try this exercise to feel how it is like when you breathe with your diaphragm. Lie down on your back and put your left hand on the upper part of your chest and your right hand on the lower chest, just under the ribcage. This is just an exercise for you to feel how does it feel like as there are many more things to learn to breathe correctly.

b) Be Your Unique Self – Many singers like to copy the voice and style of other well known singers. By doing this, these singers will never be able to develop their own distinctive style and talent.

c) Singing Posture – Unknown to most people, your singing posture plays an important part in how your voice sounds. This is because how you stand is very much correlated to how you breathe and sing. This is the very reason why powerful opera singers are always singing in relaxed but upright postures.

d) Take Up Singing Lessons – You may not know this, most if not all great singers take singing lessons from good vocal coaches. Are you taking any vocal lessons at the moment? If not, dont you think it is about time to do so if you desire to be a good singer?

Tips For Making Long Flights More Enjoyable

Those who are planning to visit destinations which are far away may be dreading the long time they will have to spend on a flight. There are many things that you can do to make this type of trip a lot more comfortable. Hopefully the tips below will be of some help.

- Ensure that your hand luggage is not over packed with things you won’t end up using. You quite often see people in the airport who obviously have overpacked their hand luggage and are now finding it difficult to carry it. This is understandable for people travelling with children but there usually is no need for it. It is not a good idea to start off your flight in a grumpy mood but carrying heavy bags around with you is exactly what will make this happen. Take the time in the departure lounge to relax before you head off and put as much as you can into your stored luggage.

- Purchase a new book at the airport. It really is nice to take the time in the airport to do these things instead of just packing one with you. It might have something to do with you never knowing what kind of book you will want to read until you are actually there at the time. Many people will end up with nothing suitable to read even though they have brought a number of different books with them.

- Purchase a good neck pillow. These pillows will help you to get comfortable so that you can get a good sleep during the flight.

- Wear layered clothing so that you can easily slip on and off layers during the trip. Unless you do this you could end up feeling either too hot or too cold during the trip.

- Stretching your legs during the flight is important so you need to get up and walk about when you can. Sitting in the same position on a plane for long periods of time can be extremely uncomfortable and can cause problems such as DVT to develop.

Finding A 4 Star Hotel For Your Perfect Family Holiday

There’s one thing for sure – kids aren’t daft. They love visiting a quality 4 star hotel as much as their mums and dads – and probably for many similar reasons.

They love the attention lavished on them from the hotel staff and the fact that they think they’re being treated with more respect than mum and dad could ever give them! And whilst there’s every chance they’re waited on hand and foot at home, it’s a real eye opener to visit a luxury hotel and see how it really should be done.

Lots of hotels will provide gifts to keep younger gifts happy and make them feel extra welcome. These can range from bags of sweets on the pillow, to cookies at bedtime or activity sets with competitions and prizes on offer. They’re a sure way of bringing a smile to their faces and making sure your children remember their hotel stay for a long time to come.

During your holiday your little ones will no doubt beg you – repeatedly and maybe very loudly – to go to the swimming pool with them. And then no doubt they’ll be asking to visit the Spa – and the tennis courts. Some hotels even have designated swim times for children.

This generally seems to be an acceptable arrangement for parents and children alike! With too few hours in the day to have a go at all the available activities, your kids will no doubt sleep well – tired and happy, know that their in for even more fun the next day. What you’ve got to ask yourself is – will you be able to stand the pace?

If you choose a hotel that specifically caters for kids, there will probably be activities and opportunities for all sorts of entertainment. There may be a children’s gym, crèche, activity club or designated games room. They’ll be able to make new friends and get together with other children the same age to socialise and play sports. In fact, you might see so little of them that you forget you’ve brought them along with you in the first place!

And we mustn’t forget breakfast every morning. There’s nothing more certain to get your little ones (and you) out of bed with a spring in their (and your) step than the promise of endless fruit juice and the smell of bacon, egg and all the trimmings. And they’ll no doubt quickly notice how relaxed mum and dad are – with no cooking or washing up to do.

Of course there’s also the guest room. After a hectic day the kids can lie back and wallow in style on crisp clean sheets and a comfy bed, remote control in hand. And they’re totally safe in the knowledge that mum and dad are having a civilised drink in the bar downstairs and have absolutely no idea what they’re watching upstairs. But as long as they remember to tuck teddy in at bedtime, everyone’ll be happy. For there’s nothing quite like a great quality 4 star hotel break to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

Summer Destinations: Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore

The Presidents of Rock

It seems that someone should say something here about how far-fetched National Treasure 2 was, but I’m going to let it slide. You probably didn’t see it.

Mount Rushmore, on the other hand has seen a lot. Located near Keystone, South Dakota, the National Park and memorial are visited by over 2 million tourists per year. That’s a lot of souvenirs.

How to Find an Alligator on Your Florida Vacation

The two animals most commonly associated with Florida are:

  • Mickey Mouse
  • Alligators

Hunting down the world’s happiest rodent is a breeze. You’ll begin to see the telltale ears long before you arrive at the gates of Walt Disney World, with observant tourists noticing that even nearby electrical posts are topped with the iconic logo.

But where, oh where, do the alligators roam?

Headed for an alligator nest by airboat

Actually spotting an alligator in Florida can be trickier than you’d think.  On one hand, it’s rumored that there is at least one alligator living in every body of water in Florida (excluding most pools, of course).  On the other hand, alligators aren’t exactly eager to make friends with humans.  They spend most of their time trying not to be seen, and with their natural camouflage, they do a pretty good job of staying hidden.

In other words, chances are you’ll swim with alligators if you hit a Florida lake, but you’ll never even know.

(I still haven’t decide if that’s good or bad.)

If you’re dying to see an alligator, you can buy a ticket for a place like Gatorland in Orlando or the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine.  You’re guaranteed to see alligators here, but they aren’t exactly in their natural habitat.

(I still haven’t decide if that’s good or bad.)

If you want to see an alligator in the wild, your best bet might be to take an airboat tour. I went on an airboat ride recently and did, technically see alligators in the water, but they were still very difficult to spot.  Your best chances of seeing an alligator during an airboat tour is to visit in the cooler months or during the coldest parts of day during the summer.  When it’s cold outside, the gators have to get out into the open to soak up warmth from the sun.

If you want to see an alligator while spending as little money as possible, head to a state park and hope for the best.  My closest and most extended encounter with an alligator actually occured during a visit to Blue Springs State Park.  We had just finished swimming when we noticed three very large alligators lounging in the water a few feet away.

(I still haven’t decide if that’s good or bad.)
